Andrew Liles, Chief Executive of Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has announced he is to leave the Trust in September to take on a new role as a partner in a healthcare consultancy.
Announcing his departure, Chairman Aileen McLeish said: “It is with real regret that I have to announce that Andrew Liles has decided to step down from his role as Chief Executive at Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Andrew has been Chief Executive for over five years, leading the Trust through some substantial changes, not only achieving Foundation Trust status but also to a position where we are widely recognised for providing high quality care for our patients. At the same time, Andrew has presided over a number of substantial investments, transforming the appearance and significantly improving facilities at both our hospitals.”
Andrew says: “I have really enjoyed my time at Ashford and St Peter’s, and have been proud to be its Chief Executive for over five years. However, a great opportunity has come up for me to work as an independent advisor to the NHS, joining a specialist healthcare consulting company called Consilium as a partner. This comes at the right time for me, and I’m looking forward to continuing to work with the health service in a new role.
I’m not leaving until September and will be working hard with the Board to continue the work on our strategic priorities. Ashford and St Peter’s is a great organisation with committed and talented staff and I feel very lucky to have been part of that over the last five years.”
Aileen adds: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Andrew for everything he has done for Ashford and St Peter’s and to wish him well in his new venture.”
