Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust took home the award for ‘Best NHS Trust’ after receiving an outstanding number of positive comments from patients. They have demonstrated a high level of passion and commitment by developing their organisation and improving patient services.

The Trust has been acknowledged for going the extra mile, delivering innovation, creativity and excellence to their patients. The teams work well together using various programmes to help create a friendly environment and provide outstanding customer service.

The trust has received an outstanding number of nominations for delivering excellent patient experience. Suzanne Rankin, Chief Executive said: “We have been working with our colleagues to empower them and build capacity and skill to provide the very best patient care.”

An independent panel of judges selected Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as their chosen winner at The WOW! Awards gala ceremony on Monday 24 November. They described the teams as a “dream team with the greatest organisational approach to customer service, putting patients first. They have demonstrated that they really do place their patients at the heart of everything they do. Congratulations to the team.”

And there were more celebrations to follow as Maple Ward at St Peter’s Hospital won a highly commended award in the WOW! What a Team category and ASPH had a further two finalists: Financial Planning Accountant, Debbie Edwards, for Supporting the Front Line and Specialist Midwife Antenatal Screening, Angela Knapp, for WOW! You Changed My Life.

 

The Trust has been running the WOW! Awards scheme for more than two years. It gives both staff and patients an easy way to compliment colleagues and carers for getting things right by nominating via paper forms or online.

These prestigious awards are purely based on customer nominations for excellent service. Finalists were judged by an independent panel of experts from high profile British organisations, media and academia. This annual ceremony has become recognised as a highlight of the British awards calendar.
