The family of the late Mr Vasanji Vadgama paid a visit to Falcon Ward at St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey last week in order to thank the staff there for all the care their father received . Mr Vadgama, a resident of Feltham, was a patient on the ward for over seven weeks last year

The Vadgama family presented the ward staff with a cheque for £1,000 and wrote a thank you letter to the Chief Executive in which they paid tribute to the excellent care their father received. They noted that all staff treated their father with dignity and compassion and were also a great support to the family accommodating their wish to spend extra time with him.

Sister Mandy Akers said ‘We are delighted that Mr Vadgama’s family have decided to present us with this cheque. Mr Vadgama was a lovely, dignified gentlemen and we were all very fond of him. The ward have decided to spend the money on improving facilities for the staff by purchasing equipment such as microwave, water cooler and easy chairs for the staff room.’

Mr Bhashen Vadgama, one of Mr Vadgama’s sons, spoke of the fantastic work he saw on Falcon Ward whilst visiting his father and how considerate and attentive the staff were to all the patients
