Around 80 local people joined senior managers and clinicians of Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Trust yesterday evening at their Annual General Meeting, which was held at the HG Wells Centre in Woking. Chief Executive Andrew Liles commented: "I and the Board were delighted with the turn-out last night, and the real interest local people clearly have in Ashford and St. Peter’s. We were also pleased to see members of staff there too. This last year (2009/10) has been our best ever in terms of performance with strong improvements in patient and staff experience and the lowest ever waiting times, and it was rewarding to share some of these achievements with members of the local community.

"Apart from my ‘Review of the Year’, Director of Finance and Information John Headley presented a financial review, and our Clinical Director for Paediatrics and Neonatal Consultant Dr Paul Crawshaw gave a detailed presentation on our neonatal services for acutely ill babies."

Guests were also able to talk to members of staff over coffee before the meeting started, including some of the ward Matrons and nursing staff, the Trust’s Infection Control team, members of the housekeeping department, capital projects team (focusing on the latest planning developments at the Trust), and the quality department.
