The Mills family from Addlestone has donated money to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey for the fourth time. Paul and Diana Mills recently presented a cheque for £2050, which brings the total they have raised in the last five years to over £7000.

The couple’s son, Ben Mills, was born five weeks prematurely in October 2005 and spent the first six days of his life in NICU, which treats some of the smallest and sickest babies in the South East. Since then, Paul has organised several sponsored golf days to raise money for the unit and new equipment to help other babies like Ben.

Paul said: “This year, the golf day was hosted at Mill Ride Golf Club in Ascot and several of our friends and families took part. We also held an auction and raffle to raise extra funds and I’m really pleased we managed to get over £2000. NICU is a special place and the people there are fantastic – we will always be grateful for the care Ben received and the support we were given and this is our way of saying thank you.”
