- A fond farewell to Andrew Liles
There was a great buzz in the air but at the same time a genuine sense of sadness that Andrew was leaving. In her farewell speech Trust Chairman Aileen McLeish talked of the many achievements Ashford and St Peter's has made under Andrew's leadership, focusing in particular on the 4 Ps and how Andrew had really taken them to heart, most of all our first P - Patients First.

- The year ahead
At the start of January I sent a message wishing everyone a Happy New Year, with a special thanks to those who worked over the holiday period. Moving into 2014, it is a good opportunity to reflect and think ahead. I have no doubt it will be a time of challenge for the NHS as whole, but at the same time we must not lose sight of the excellent work that goes on every day on behalf of patients.
