The Trust cannot confirm or deny it holds information about the ‘care and treatment’ of sickle cell patients. However there were 15 complaints relating to sickle cell.

No. The complaints did not relate to the care of sicklecell / thalassaemia patients in the Trust, rather screening and partner testing issues. We have minimal sickle cell and thalassaemia activity in this Trust. Patients are usually admitted and managed under acute medicine and those that are admitted generally attend a number of hospitals in the region and follow up is therefore often at a larger haemoglobinopathy centre.
