Details of the Request

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I seek the following pieces of information in relation to the amount of call outs made to pest control services.

  1. The total amount of times pest control were called out to a hospital under the care of your trust.
  2. The type of pest which caused the call out - and the section area in the hospital that had the issue.
  3. The total amount of money spent on pest control call outs.

I would like this information broken down annually from January 2013 until the time my request is dealt with.

Pests can cover a wide range of creatures, including (but not limited to): ants, rats, mice, cockroaches, insects, fleas, maggots, wasps, bees, etc.

1. The total amount of times pest control were called out to a hospital under the care of your trust.

  • Apr – Dec 2013*: 97
  • Jan – Dec 2014 *: 33
  • Jan – Dec 2015: 32
  • Jan 2016 to date: 8

* Data not available for Jan - Mar 2013.

The Trust changed to a new system in July 2014. There is no data for June 2014.

 

2. The type of pest which caused the call out - and the section area in the hospital that had the issue.

Please note: It’s not specifically listed by you but our costs includes pigeons (cleaning/proofing/prevention). We have a contract with a company which is an annual fee: this has been included in our figures.
