1. Do you have a dedicated policy with a structure of signposting support for staff affected by domestic abuse? If so, please give details.

There is no dedicated policy for domestic abuse, it forms part of the Trust Adult Safeguard policy.

 

2. Do you have a dedicated policy with a structure of signposting support for patients affected by domestic abuse? If so, please give details.

The Trust holds this information, but considers it is exempt under section 22 of the Act as it is intended for future publication on the Trust’s Website. The Trust is currently developing a stand-alone policy on Domestic Abuse, as directed by the Surrey Safeguarding Board.

No

N/A

 

5. Are staff inducted in the organisation’s policy so that they are fully informed of its content and the support available to them as well as patients?

Yes, staff receive information initially at Trust induction and then during safeguard training

 

6. How many staff have received training in recognising and supporting victims of domestic abuse in the past year?

Members of staff trained in the last 12 months = 1480; however this training is mandatory for all staff every 3 years the total number of staff trained is 3159 over 3 years.

 

7. When was domestic abuse training last reviewed in your organisation?

Surrey Safeguarding Children’s Board (SSCB) reviewed their Domestic Abuse package at the end of 2015 and have cascaded this down to organisations including our own. We are currently preparing a Domestic Abuse Policy containing SSCBs recommendations.

 

8. What does the training cover?

The current training covers recognition, health related issues, impact on children, high risk markers, referral of concern and confidentiality.
